When Did LANGUAGE BEGIN ?

It is believed that language developed either as imitation of animal sounds or as a way to accompany the body's gestures and movements, between the times of the Neanderthal Man (1,00,000 BC) and Cro-Magnon Man (35,000 BC).

The studies show that the throat of Neanderthal Man was very short and could not produce the sounds recognised as human speech .

By 40,000 BC, human body evolved the throat muscles capable of voice sounds. Today, there are over 5,000 different languages and dialects spoken in the world, with 845 of them spoken in INDIA alone.

The Khoi-Kh in tripe of South Africa uses a language of clicks and clacks made in their throats.
