The Lord Arunachaleshwarar Temple at Tiruvannamalai is one of the popluar Temple(Koil) in Tamil Nadu , India. Karthikai Deepam Festival is celebrated from this Temple. Karthikai Deepam Marks the conclusion of the 10 day long festival in Month of Karthikai (Tamil Year). Its also called Parani Deepam Festivals.Thousand of gather to clebrated Karthikai Deepam , where a huge lamb is lit on top of thiruvannamalai hill, Symbolifying Lord Shiva Appearance as a huge column of light, whose orgins Bhramma and Vishnu were unable to trace.

It is also considered as the extenstion of the Deepavali festivals. In some houses, they double the number of lambs every day from the day of deepavali and this way , they end up with a number of lambs on the day of Karthikai Deepam.

and Every home made Karthikai "Kolukkattai" in this day of maga deepam .
